I've got a Kichler 900 watt low voltage 7.5 amp transformer. I want to run (4) 18.5 watt bulbs 400 feet away, so a total of 74 watts. I would come off the 15v tap, run the 400 feet and then split off (4) ways to the (4) post lamps. What size wire should be used for this 400 foot run?

You'll want to keep the resistance down as best as possible so I'd suggest 12 or 14 gauge wire. If this is an exterior application run everything above ground, connect lights and make sure there not dim. If they are you'll have to get special low impedence exterior wire.
You will want to use at least a 10gauge wire for that long of run. It will give you 80 watts. However, I would consider even an 8gauge just because in the future you may want to add to it.
Thank You for using FixYa, please comment if you need any clarifications. Good Luck with your project, have a great week. Jeff
