I've got an engine diagnostic question for my 1987 944 (non-turbo) Porsche. It's been running off and on ever since i bought it. In the beginning it would get overheated quickly and shut itself off, i've done the basic check ups to checked the fuses and just put new coolant in. After that didn't work, i put in a new distributor cap, coil, spark plugs but it still seems to be an electric problem. However, to "cover the bases" (says the mechanic i consulted) i had him put in a new water pump and new coolant fans. After $1,350 it still doesn't work. Ran fine one day, but now it will instantly shut off once i take it out of neutral. I am at a lose, help please?
