I've tried to charge my battery in my camcorder, the red light doesn't go on and after I've tried cahrging overnight, the battery shows empty battery life. This has happened already now with the 3rd camera I've gotten. What's up? I have a HD-DV Camcorder

Make sure evrything is plugged in especially at the power adaptor as these can un-plug there as well. Hopefully your problem is at the adapter and the unit fails to make power in order to charge. I would test the a/c adaptor or try a known good one and hopefully your troubles stop there. Bad batteries can give this thing a beating and fail it.
