The little tool may not be orange ours is gray. It is a handle with 2 pins in it to fit into the 2 holes on top of the shreder. The shreder is screwed on to a plastic bolt like twist on.
There is the metal thingy that slides up over the upper unit. Pull it towards your firmly. Once it's down you can lift off the top housing. Then you'll see the blade. You need that little orange crescent tool to fit into the two holes in the blade. Turning it will loosen. Then the blade screws off (righty tighty, lefty loosey). It's just a matter of taking off the parts then and washing them. The screen thingy is easiest to wash from the outside with a nice scubby pad. Reassembles same way.
