Jereky Renault Scenic
I have a Renault Scenic, 2000 Australian model with Auto Transmission. The problem with the vehicle is that when in 4th gear between 50km/hr and 80 km/hr on a straight road with constant throttle, the car would **** noticeably, which is very uncomfortable. In 3rd gear under these conditions it was fine. I took it to the local Renault dealer in Geelong, where they spent many hours on it. They checked the oxygen sensors, changed the throttle components, checked many other sensors, tried various other driving conditions, using the snow driving button, but could not find anything that would fix the problem. Basically, they had no idea. To this day I still have the same problem and putting up with it by driving around town in 3rd gear. The local Renault agent repair centre assistant said he had several years in Europe servicing Renaults and Volkswagen and had never seen anything like it!!!
He believed it to be an engine misfire rather than a automatic gearbox problem. Has anybody had similar experiences.

If the use of computer diagnostic tool from Renault dealer did not come up with any computer faults, then my suggestions to this would be to check the connector on the fuel pump in the rear for signs of overheating or meltdown also a fuel pressure test these problems are normally not detected by the diagnostic tool.
The gearbox is a fuzzy logic type which means that it will try to make you drive in an economical manner i.e.changeing up as soon as possible to a higher gear so when you feather the throttle in 4th it doesnt know wether to put fuel in the engine or not.hence a rather uncomfortable ride.nothing you can do about it.try redexe or wynns to clean fuel injectors/a higher octane fuel to see if you get any improvement.dealers sometimes havnt got a clue.with regard fuzzy logic.
