My spindle keeps coming loose and then the wheel spins freely...I tried tightening it up but it keeps coming loose..any idea on what to do?

You have a direct drive model.
The scooter WILL NOT idle with weight on the scooter. You need to get a good jogging start, and then hop on the scooter to go. The direct drive will also quit once you come to a stop, because the rear wheel is powered directly, by the motor, as opposed to having a clutch, or transmission. :)

The model you have is probably a sport or a Bigfoot. Enjoy.

Your sleve may be getting stuck on the spring, or the edge of the collapsing joint.

If your scooter's spring is caught, the sleeve will be very hard to pull up.
Check the path of the sleeve to make sure no snags are catching it.
Some grease may help, but the two surfaces in question are Aluminum, and not steel.

The folding mechanism should be hard to activate, because you do not want that to fail while you are in motion. Try to leave your scooter in the upright position mostly. :)
