Just bought an Atari2600. It does'nt work. I don't know if the problem is the Power adapter or the Internal Power jack. I found out that the internal power Jack is part # 79-5918 but I don?t find it anywhere. Is the internal connector jack suppose to be weld to the console? Mine is kind of lose

You are correct the internal female connector should be soldered onto the main board. If it is loose then chances are that is the cause. You will not be able to find a replacement as they quit making them along time ago. You can keep an eye out on ebay or amazon.com and you might get lucky.
Your second best bet would be to find a broken Atari 2600 and carefully remove the power connector from it and carefully solder it onto yours. Some basic knowledge of soldering will be required.

Thank you, Daniel. My husband bought it on Sunday. He was so excited but the unit doesn't work. I just wanted to give him a surprise trying to find out what the problem is. If I don't find the internal connector jack until next week, he probably will need to return the Atari.Thank you, Daniel. My husband bought it on Sunday. He was so excited but the unit doesn't work.
