Just had the front brakes worked on a couple of days ago and now when I come to a complete stop and I start to accelerate I have to step on the accelerator a little harder for the car to go
I suggest that you take the car back to the company that worked on your brakes as the friction pads are obviously binding on the disc plate assembly. This could be because of incorrect thickness of pads used.
If the mechanic who installed the brakes didn't check the sliders in the brake calipers, they could be seized. if he just changed the pads and called it good, your brakes could be sticking on because of stuck sliders.
also, if you replaced rotors, they come from factory with a film on them that needs to be cleaned off with proper brake cleaner, or it will ruin your new pads and cause issues.
you'll warp everything if you drive it with the brakes sticking. have it looked at by a professional and don't let a backyard mechanic do your brakes. brakes save lives.
