Just installed new mobo (ecs 6100sm-m) and boot up issue
Just installed the 6100sm-m with a amd athlon 64x2 dual core 5000+
Trying to boot up with windows xp old install on the drive for the old MoBo which had a single P4 2.8.
I get the error msg on boot-up:
"CMOS checksum error - defaults loaded
PLEASE RESETTING CPPU FREQUENCY IN CMOS SET UP
F1 to contue DEL to enter set-up"
If i continue it goes to safe mode boot up, then whirs and resets,
Announces
"AMD DATA CHANGE
UPDATE NEW DATA TO DMI"
then reboots and back to safe mode option, half boots, resets, and round it goes.
If i enter DEL i get into the bios set-up and can change the CPU frequency but dont know what to change it to.
Im not an expert but have built a few PC's before. Any help will be great thanks!!

From my experience, you will need to format when changing the hardware you have changed. are there files on the drive that you need? if so id recommend putting your old motherboard back in to backup the drive then rebuild and format. thats if it wasnt faulty to start off with.
hope it helps
