Did you check and see if the filter still has the rubber grommet by the threads? Look at your old filter to make sure they are the same. Did you get it on cross threaded? . Might just be a bad filter, seen it happen only once. . Did you leave the old rubber grommet on the threaded shaft? Just shooting some guesses at you. Good luck
