Just started getting the message "insert smart chip" scrolling across the screen of my pink ATT Sony Ericsson cell phone. I took the battery out and pulled the chip, then put them back in and turned it on and the message reappered. What do you advise?

Test the phone with a good working Sim card from another phone. If that works, buy another simcard but if you still has the same issue, the simcard connector assembly might be the problem. Go to a local repair shop.
