Hmmm..Had a F 51 code come up on my washer...called the Kenmore guy..he came out and you'll never guess what the problem was. Not the Motherboard..nope..not anything that was major..are your ready for this?
It was my son's shirt stuck between the outside of the barrel and the plastic skirting...that is what was keeping my barrell from turning or agitating.
Make sure when you call you repairman..try to be in there when he/she does the repair...I'm sure if I hadn't been right there...I probably would have been told something different.
Before you buy anything part 20 under motor is the sensor that sets the code. Tilt washer back so you can work under it and take off the motor rotor. 1 bolt in center of round piece. (Strong magnet) take wire coil off remember how it lines up, unplug and plug in wire to RPS sensor. This was the repair until they came up with new parts. Put it back together and try it. Code F51 will stay in memory no way to erase it. They had a problem with wire connection. RPS and control board have been redesigned, I always replace RPS first. Could need both.
