Kerosene odor from natural gas heater. gas co thinks grates break
However the grates appear fine. no one else in our area w/ similar problem. gad co checked and found no leaks or carbon dioxide emissions ????

The odor your referring to usually comes from you recently using an oil based product like paint or wood oil. Until the petroleum based product has fully dried, the open flame will seem to be the source of the odor but are really just intensifying it. If you have a gas range, see if those burners smell similar. Rags in a gas dryer also cause the odor. The gas co. will check for gas or carbon monoxide only but this odor is neither.
