keyboard and during use, the mouse looses connection and then I have to shake it or click it to get it back. Someone told me it might be a frequency problem, but I don't know how to change the frequency. Any ideas?

This is standard practice for wireless mice and keyboards. This is because they go into power saving mode which means you have to click or shake them to re-activate them.
You have nothing to worry about here as my own mouse does exactly the same thing.
