Hello there and welcome to FIXYA Whenever a keyboard is inoperative or is not working properly 1 of several things usually have happened . First is the settings in bios have changed due to a cmos batttery on the board being low this causes the settings to go to default and the next thing is that something got spilled on the keyboard and shorted out the electronics on the board itself thus leaving the keyboard useless So what i would do first is to try the keyboard in a different computer and see if that computer will recognize it if so then you know that there is a problem in the other computer but if not then it is safe to say that the keyboard may be shot due to things like being dropped or getting wet et ect now if it is a wireless keyboard then you will want to try to remove the usb from the computer and reinstalling it in a different port and see if the computer says any thing about a new device found if so then it means that the device has been found and the drivers will need to be installed this may take some tome to see if the drives do get installed if not then you know what the problem is ok So please do these things that i have mentioned and PLEASE keep informed on how this is going there is still a lot that we can do but i need you to do the basic things first ok Best regards Mike

Hello there and welcome to FIXYA
Whenever a keyboard is inoperative or is not working properly 1 of several things usually have happened .
First is the settings in bios have changed due to a cmos batttery on the board being low this causes the settings to go to default
and the next thing is that something got spilled on the keyboard and shorted out the electronics on the board itself thus leaving the keyboard useless
So what i would do first is to try the keyboard in a different computer and see if that computer will recognize it if so then you know that there is a problem in the other computer but if not then it is safe to say that the keyboard may be shot due to things like being dropped or getting wet et ect now if it is a wireless keyboard then you will want to try to remove the usb from the computer and reinstalling it in a different port and see if the computer says any thing about a new device found if so then it means that the device has been found and the drivers will need to be installed this may take some tome to see if the drives do get installed if not then you know what the problem is ok
So please do these things that i have mentioned and PLEASE keep informed on how this is going there is still a lot that we can do but i need you to do the basic things first ok
Best regards Mike
