Probably cv joint they will start that way when on the straight away you wont hear it but on the turn you will means that the bearings in the cv joint are bad check this out and let me know also please rate my assistance if it was helpful thank you.
If the axle boot (black rubbery plastic cup around the axle near the tire) has any tears or holes in it, you will need to replace the CV joint and the boot. Dirt and debris can enter the boot when there's a tear and the grease can't be maintained at a level to keep it lubricated. The joint quickly becomes damaged and worn and won't be quiet again until replaced.
Take a look at your front axle and your boot and see if you can spot anything around the bearings. sounds like your axle boot is torn and the grease came out
