Kirby model gd3
Hi,
I inherited a Kirby model gd3 Vacuum cleaner. It seems to work fine, but the handle will not stay up. It falls to the floor whenever you let go. I was thinking that I need a handle spring assembly part #K-671901 but I do not have a manual and there is a switch at the back of the unit that has no apparent purpose. Is there a way to getting it to stand up without a repair???

The "switch" refered to is probably the handle release button.
Yes you need that part (Picture here). There is a spring in this part that is either tired either broken. This is pretty common for G3.
Did not quite get what switch are you referring to? If this is a lever on this pivot spring assembly - new ones do not have it.
