Kitchen Aid KTT570 toaster won't work
My Kitchen Aid KTT570 toaster's lever won't catch and lower the bread. it worked for about a year, then began to not catch once in a while. The problem just got worse. Repeated tries and changing outlets used to help but that doesn't even work now. Is there a repair or a part change out that a home user could do?

Yep you need to replace the lever.
When this happens the lever is often bent, not broken, the little tag that is keeping the lever dowh is not catching anymore.
The toaster has probably safety screws, you will need a special screwdriver to undo the screws if you want to open it.
If you decide to do it yourself unplug power, and be careful not to damage the heating elements or any of the wiring inside.
If you need to replace the part you can buy it here, call them by phone if you do not find the part in listings.
