KITCHENAID OVEN MODEL KEMS 308 SELF CLEANING ENGAGED, POWER TURNED OFF DURING ENGAGEMENT, ERR MESSAGE: FSE1 DOOR LOCKED HOW CAN I GET UNLOCKED AND GET RID OF ERR FSE1
Good Morning, Sometimes an F5E1 will appear when the control board is faulty.. because it isn't properly driving the door latch circuit properly. If the door latch assembly is fully functional, we recommend sending in your oven control board to Fixyourboard.com for testing and/or repairs. Reach out to them at 512-355-1108 or [email protected] They also have replacement touchpads for this model oven if needed.
The error is F5E1 and means door latch problem detected. This happened in consequence of the power cut while the unit was in self clean.
Try pressing and holding down the cancel button for one minute. Try disconnecting power from circuit breaker for ten minutes, that will reset the control board. If that does not work the door latch, wiring and control module must be tested and the defective part replaced.
Here full troubleshooting from Kitchenaid service papers:
1. If the door lock is latched:
Disconnect power.
Check wiring and connectors from control module to door switch, then from door switch to control (do a continuity test). If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step 3.
Replace the door switch.
Re-apply power.
Press and hold down any key down for 1 minute to clear the F5 failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and wait one minute.
2. If door not latched:
Disconnect power from unit.
Check wires and connectors from control to latch switch, then from latch switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the door switch.
3. Measure door switch (door open =switch open - Ohms infinity/small low voltage terminals depending on test done- Ohms reading is done with power off). Replace switch if defective. 4. Measure latch switch (unlatch = switch open, CAUTION - oven light contacts are closed). Replace switch if defective. 5. If corrections are made in any step, reconnect power to control. Press and hold any key for 1 minute to clear R failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct. 6. If the problem remains, disconnect power and replace control module.
