KitchenAid Superba ice maker not dispensing ice
I have a KitchenAid superba architect side-by-side refrigerator and the ice dispenser stopped working. It makes ice but won't dispense. We just changed the filter and it stopped dispensing. We pulled out the ice bin, dumped out all the ice, melted everything inside, put it back in and it made more ice but still won't dispense. Any ideas what might be wrong?

This is not a solution, but an explanation- our repair man said that there is a line (tube) containing electric wires that passes from the frig to the door at the bottom of the door, near the hinge. for what ever reason, the line has broken, thus keeping the electric from getting to the motor that dispense ice and water- solution= $700 for a new door; we'll do without
this happen to us and kithenaid fixed it on warranty, it was a design flaw, too short of a wire loom was used.
This might sound a little blond, but I was having the same problem until my daughter showed me that it was on lock... just another little thing to check.. good luck..
The Line between the icemaker and the valve on the back has frozen. It happens about once a year on min. Remove the line on the back where it goes into the top of the freezer. Take a clean coathanger and warm it with a hair dryer. the run it thru the line. You may have to blow on it a couple of times as well but the ice will come out of the line and you will be making ice again.
Hope this helps
Mr Nascar, How can there be a piece missing if I'm the only owner and nothing has changed with my ice maker since I bought it 3 yrs ago?
Randy :-\
Sometimes it could get hung. Therefore it will keep on and keep on making the ice. So you should turn off the ice maker and then take everything out and try to work with it.
Write me back and let me know :)
The problem is that the bottom piece is missing from the ice maker housing. i have the same problem and im looking for that peice
