Knocking noise happens every revolution... sounds like plastic not metal.. will happen in every cycle and happens when i spin the inner drum manually with washer off.. happens in either direction.. also, with the inner tub removed if i spin the belt the noise is not there... when i put the the inner basket back in if i do not tighten the main nut down all the way and spin the basket the noise is not there... but when i tighten the nut all the way the noise is there
