Lacie 1tb Bigger Disk
I bought this used from a lady who told me that her ex had been using it with his Mac, but she couldn't make it work for her Dell. I watched her try to make it work and wasn't surprised. I don't think that poor lady could have done anything with that poor machine.
So I figured, I can do this with my brand new iMac 2.4Ghz. Wrong!
It actually did work for a while, backing up using Time Machine. Then it started quitting, telling me that the disk I disconnected hadn't been properly shut down and I could have lost data.
Now it doesn't even show up at all, either on the desktop, in system profiler or disk utility.
Can you help?

Hey, i'm pretty late... i know.
however, a friend of mine had similar problems.
when researching for possible solutions to this, i came across various postings that said the PSU (power supply) might have become bad (or weak).
you might want to try to power up all - or some of the 4 - HDs via another (i.e. working "old" PC power supply). eventually this helps.
the 4 internal HDs are organized AFAIK as pairs in RAID0 - the pairs as JBOD. this makes it very difficult to restore data when 1 drive fails - as well as from another controller/machine.
(for sure: when powering up the HDs from another power supply they still have to be connected to the "original" controller - and the controller has to be working / switched on / led on)
