Laptop accesses network, but not desktop
Brand new Netgear RangeMax (WPN824)(g version) router hardwired to Dell desktop running Vista Ultimate. Dell laptop is running Vista Home Premium. The laptop can access the wifi network, but it cannot find the desktop computer on the network; therefore, it cannot retrieve files from the Public directory.

You need tocheck the sharing, on both pc's go to taskbar on right, right click the network icon, click network and sharing centre and ensure the sharing buttons are all on.
Make sure thay are also on the same workgroup, right click my computer icon>properties>advanced system settings>click computer name tab and check the workgroup name is the same eg both mshome or workgroup
