Laptop froze so restarted it
I was recently on my laptop on ebay but the screen froze for atleast 10 minutes so i switched it off and restarted it but now it says disc error and wont boot to windows. i have to keep the windows disc in because if i dont it just says insert disc. anyway when it says disc error it then says press ctrl/alt/del to restart but when i do that it just says disc error again. ive change the hardrive but it says the same thing so i dont think its that. ive also tryed the windows disc on my pc and that works fine. maybe its the thing that reads the disc.. if so is it easy to change?

thats no problem, go to the manufacturers website. download the VGA ( graphics Drivers ) For the model you have. re-install the Drivers.
And your problems should be solved.
alternatively, is to download ( from another computer ) burn to cd, and insert at system startup. you,ll probably need to unpack the downloaded file(s) first, as thier usually Zipped or Rar. ( winzip-Winrar )

it,s not necessarily the CD Disk, that it,s refering to. it may be the hard-disk.
if your having to leave the windows cd in the drive, then your hard-drive ( Disk ) may be lacking a few files on it, and reading from the cd for the missing files.
what you need to do, is format the hard-drive, then go through the re-installation of windows. when you,ve done that. ensure that all of your decive drivers are installed correctly.
if you go to My Computer/control Panel/ system/Device manager Any devices not correctly installed, usually have a yellow exclamation mark by them.

i,d check any programs that are using the sound card.
also may be worth uninstalling and re-installing the drivers for the sound-card. sometimes works.
also run a good virus scan on the computer.
if this fails, you may have a motherboard-sound card fault.
