Stay away from Emachines in the future. Pay another $100 and get a real computer. 1. check that nothing is in the CD-Rom drive and restart the computer. 2.Shut down the computer. Unplug the AC power. Remove the battery pack. Wait 2 minutes or until machine cools. try powering on comp on battery alone, then try with AC power alone.
