LCD monitor problem
I recently knocked over my leica c-lux 1 camera while it was attached to my PC , it didnt take a heavy knock as it was still attached by the USB cable , but now i cant see the view from the LCD monitor on the back of the camera , if i look at it in bright daylight i can just about make out what the camera sees and go through the menu but the fact the image on the LCD is so weak means that i cant frame a photograph. it still takes a photograph and behaves normally apart from the extremly weak image in the LCD .

The LCD works by allowing light to pass through it. From your description, the LCD is working but has no light behind it. This could be a connection problem or a failure of a component. If you are comfortable opening up the unit, look for a connector that is not fully seated. Otherwise, the camera will require service to locate the defective part.
