LCD screen replacement
Does any one know if any other digital camera uses the same LCD screen as the Kodak CX7530. I am looking for a damaged camera with an intact screen to replace my cracked one. I have a kodak M853 camera. It has a cracked screen, that I would like to replace, the camera works. I am currently stationed in Iraq, and use my camera alot.

Here's how to replace it:
Remove the various screws on the outside of the case, as well as those inside of the battery door. The front of the case will come off with very gentle prying. If not, look around for a screw you missed. You will now see a few screws holding the internal camera onto the back cover; remove. Now, it looks like the knob on top of the camera, having part of the case around it, will have to come off or be pulled off. This is not the case. Line the symbols on the knob up, so the video symbol points to the front of the camera. The knob lines up interally & then the case slides off, again prying gently. Now the back is off. The old screen is held in by clips around the screen & on mine there was adhesive holding it in. Pry the screen gently away from the camera. The ribbon cable folds over behind the screen & is inserted into a slot. It will pull right out. Note which way the contacts face. Now, take the new screen & insert the end on the ribbon cable into the slot the same way the old one was. There will be some resistance so use the utmost gentleness when inserting the cable, as kinking the ribbon cable will likely break it & you'll have to chuck the whole thing & order a new one. On my replacement, there were 2 tiny little tabs, on each side of the connector, which I was able to press down on. Now, carefully bend the ribbon cable under the screen the way the old one was & press into the clips. You can now put the back & front covers back on. Note some screws go through both the back & front covers. I stressed throughout this note using extreme finesse, not brute force, in fixing your camera, which will ensure you won't screw up it up.
