Leak to under ice cube tray causing drawer to freeze shut
We have a 48" X 82" x 24" Traulsen (model URS48DT) with an ice maker/drawer. While the ice maker seems to work OK, there seems to be a leak that goes to the area under the ice cube drawer which then freezes into solid ice, freezing the drawer closed.
Repair/service companies that presumably are "Traulsen" competent have tried to fix the problem by replacing the seals around both the drawer and freezer door, replacing the drain line, and even the ice maker. The condenser coils have also been serviced. Nothing has worked.
We would like to avoid buying a new unit. How should we proceed?

May be your freezer evaporator drain hole is frozen. If this is the case, you can try to install a low heat drain hole heater into the drain hole and connect the wires with the defrost heater.
