Left earphone is practically inaudible

My Shure headphones have always had a bit of an imbalance between L and R, but the L phone is now almost useless. I've tried cleaning etc, but to no avail.
Any advice?

If you are good at DIY and you have the tools try opening the Left bud, remove the wires and re solder them back in place. If you want to save the hassle of all that I'd suggest that you get a new pair of ear phones. The ones you have might have lived their lifetime.
