Lens shoots while aiming downwards, no while level or upwards
Hi.
I just bought a used Quanteray 135mm - 400mm lens from Craigslist.
When I tried to shoot with it with my Canon 20D, it only works when the camera and lens are pointed in a downwards direction. When the camera is held level or when it is aimed in an upwards direction I receive an Error99 message.
I have 6 other lenses that I use with the same body and do not receive this error.
What would you reccommend?

Sounds to me as if some of the electronic connections are not completing the circuit properly - have you tried cleaning the contacts on both the camera and the lens carefully with a lint-free cloth and some IPA ?
