Leviton wireless switch fails to work all the time
Newly installed leviton wireless switch only works once in a while. Our electrician says it needs a booster on the main panel. An additional $85 plus. It controls the exterior lights on our detached garage. It is approx 50' or less away from the control. Why does it work sometimes? Is there anything I can try before spending another $100 or so with the electrician? I am not sure what model number it is-it was installed by the electrician.

50 feet is the maximum range for the switch, per manufacturers spec. Range is diminished somewhat for walls, doors, etc.
IIRC, there is a plug in transceiver available from Leviton, however, if the price of the booster for the main panel is included in the $100 installation, then I'd say that's a fair price. You may try to keep fresh batteries in the switch.
