There is one hinge but two pivot points. One near the door itself and the other inside the unit where the hinge rotates into the machine. The inside pivot is directly below the detergent dispenser. If you use too much detergent or you put liquid detergent into the unit not using the liquid 'cup', then some of the detergent splashes down the inside of the washer and land on the hinge pivot. Then slowly over time, the pivot 'rusts' and stops pivoting well, holding the side of the door ajar even though the door locks. Water can then splash out. Sometimes 'liquid wrench' or WD40 can loosen it. Sometimes not. Take top off, take control panel off, take front off, to get to hinges. Hardest part is putting spring sealer back on door boot. Watch a few videos. Good luck.
If your getting water coming out. Your pump is not working or is clogged with a coin check the hose. And have a shop vac ready to suck up the water. The door has a lock and should not open on front loaders till the cycle is complete and water is drained
