LG KEYBO enV2 keypad tone won't turn off in speaker mode

I have turned off the keypad tone for the phone, and it usually doesn't make a sound. However, whenever the speaker mode is on (when I'm talking to someone on the phone with speaker mode), the keypad makes very loud beeping noises which makes texting while talking very irritating.
I've tried turning on speaker mode and setting keypad tone to 0. But it's already at 0. please help.
