The first suggestion i have is to pull out the battery and do a hard reset that way. I'm not sure that will handle the problem, since it sounds from your description like the memory is jammed up. If this doesn't work, you may have to resort to a hard reset. This will clear all of your applications and data, so should be used only as a last resort. To hard reset, press the power key, the volume down key, and the home key at the same time, and hold them for eight seconds.
