The lightning strike, essentially, produced a pulse effect, which in return, caused a surge of current throughout the entire home wiring assembly. Normally the circuit breaker will open the circuit to prevent further damage to the home, but the initial surge will usually fry the main board in most newer LCD based Televisions. The main board will cost around 278 dollars. I would seriously consider purchasing a new unit.

If the cost of fixing the problem is almost the cost of getting another TV, then its not worth fixing and you will also look at it the other way round.
