If you are not getting signal in some areas then your cellphone will display as "limited service" and sometimes when you come to the area where there is signal then also it display "limited service".. if so try giving "restore factory settings"("reset") the firmware might have got corrupted .. by giving the "restore factory settings"("reset") the firmware problems will be fixed ..
after you press "restore factory settings"("reset") it may ask for the "security code"("password") give that ... after you perform the reset restart your phone once ...
if you still persist the same problem then the network antenna(network pin) inside the phone is in loose contact it might not be touching the motherboard of the cell correctly so if you are good at opening then just open the handset and fix it correctly you problem will be fixed ...

I dont think its down to your signal as your getting on the internet. it could be a firmware problem if i was you i would flash it ive flashed mine 4 or 5 times with no problem and its always been an improvement on the previous f/w . I find the best f/w to be F48FXEIA3 you can find out what f/w you have by dialing *#1234# its the last 3 letters and numbers that are important IA3 i=2009 h =2008 a = jan b=feb c=march and so on the number after is the revision of the said month any probs e-mail me
