Losing sound in my Shure ear buds, they are one year old
Cleaned excess wax etc do not see any plugging. Problem is definitely within the buds and not the ipod as the same issue occurs when I plug into other hosts. Sometimes the sound will completely die in one ear or the other.

The wire breaks after a while in ear buds ,and head phones due to the constant flexing, and moving.they probably need to be remade.by cutting out the bad part of the wire(usually close to the fitting)You can usually wiggle the wire and find where the breaks are that way.it can be a real pain re soldering ear buds.also check the plug end by wiggling the wire there.
I have the exact same issue. Right channel OK, left channel no signal. This is my second pair of Shure in-ears, the first one got binned because of cabling issues too.
Apparently, their new SE315 offers replacable cables, so they recognize the problem, but I'm still in doubt wether to bite the bullet and get me a pair. This has cost me so much money already...
Etymotic and Westone have equal if not better sound quality.
