You don't need a measuring cup. I have used rice cookers for the past 20 years without one. All you have to do is put the dry rice in the pan and add water until it is about 1 cm above the rice. This will vary slightly depending on the type and age of the rice but you will soon be able to judge it yourself. Brown rice needs more water, say 1.5-2cm above the rice.
