Does the hand brake pull up ? if so then needs adjusting or the rear pads/shoes need replacing , always best to include vehicle make and model for a more concise answer
Hi Kevin, i don't think your vehicle is any more prone to handbrake problems than others makes ,as long as the vehicle is regulary serviced then shouldn't have problems i.e as the handbrake parts are exposed to road dirt, the wet etc they can sieze and of course tthe cables do stretch, get some one to pull up the handbrake and look to see if the actuater moves behind the rear brake , if it does then either the cable just needs adjusting or renewing , the adjuster is up near the hand brake handle and can usually be found inside the vehicle , try to adjust if wont tighten then will need new cable's , the brake should only pull up 4-6 clicks as a guide , hope this helps SteveHi Kevin, i don't think your vehicle is any more prone to handbrake problems than others makes ,as long as the vehicle is regulary serviced then shouldn't have problems i.e as the handbrake parts are exposed to road dirt, the wet etc they can sieze and of course tthe cables do stretch, get some one to pull up the handbrake and look to see if the actuater moves behind the rear brake , if it does then either the cable just needs adjusting or renewing , the adjuster is up near the hand brake handle and can usually be found inside the vehicle , try to adjust if wont tighten then will need new cable's , the brake should only pull up 4-6 clicks as a guide , hope this helps Steve
