Hi Marc, there is no 'heat' per say with microwave ovens as one would find in a convection oven. Microwave ovens operate by generating electromagnetic fields (within the microwave band) that causes water molecules in the food item to vibrate/rotate creating friction/heat - within the food item as opposed to the surrounding space (this would be convection)
