The Bernina foot 37 is called the 'Patchwork Foot'. It is very useful in piecing quilt tops as the foot features an accurate 1/4" and 1/8" on both sides of the needle. It also has a 1/4" guide in front and behind the needle to allow accurate 1/4" stops and starts from the end of the pieces being stitched together. An excellent reference guide is available on line at: http://berninainstitches.com/pdfs/Bernina_Presser_Feet_Guide.pdf
