Mackie srm450 not making any sound at all
Was using my mackie srm450s at a party had them playing quite loud they both overheated and the internal red thermostat light came on so they stopped working. Let them cool down and rest for a good while now one them wont make any sound at all. It has all the normal working lights which come on (blue led on front, green on back plus the flashing green led which shows its receiving signal input) however no sound at all. Im really confused as to what the problem is any help would be very greatfully recieved.

It sounds like the thermostat didn't shut the speakers down before they were damaged. There is probably a very fine wire leading to the speaker coils which is burned/broken. Fixing this broken connection my solve the problem unless the coil itself is damaged.
Another possibility is that the crossover circuitry in the speaker cabinet is damaged from overheating.
Sounds like you need a service tech to look at the bad speaker, unless you want to tackle the job.
Antoine,
About the only simple check you could perform is to take the speaker cabinet apart and visually check to see if any wires are burned & broken. If there are, these could be spliced to see if that's the only damage. This is very tedious work especailly if the wires are very fine.
It wouldn't be long job for a tech, but their rates are pretty high -- my guess (and that's all it is) is a coupla hundred dollars.
