Magnum s-3 well hope someone can help me. i have a magnum s-3 that when powered up goes to channel 9 when it does this there is no rx or tx..when radio warms up it will act just fine ..after it starts working as long as you dont kill the power it will work fine all day and night..thanks for any help

Most likely cause is a weak electrolytic capacitor in the frequency synthesizer circuit or a voltage regulator that feeds power to it. As they age, these capacitors, which contain a viscous acidic electrolyte, can dry out but will function when warm, at least for a while, before they fail completely.
