I know i am not helping much here, but here it goes, probably the only answer out there for people who are not technicians. most likely this was caused by a bad or incomplete update. only solution for red ring of death is replacement (the newer models are less likely to encounter this problem) or you can contact microsoft. in many cases if you pay to ship it to them they will repair it for free and also pay for return shipping. I am sorry that this has happened to you it really sucks when your games sit there just for you to stare and wish playing them was an option. Microsoft will most likely work with you on this because in most situations it is not the fault of the user, it ends up being back drivers or outdated hardware that has been replaced with more reliable parts or software.
