Malber WD1000 dryer timer starts running immediately when set, even in the middle of wash cycle
My washer/dryer used to function properly, but recently, the dryer function is not operating correctly. For one thing, if I set the dryer knob to anything other than off when the machine is turned on, it turns on the dryer fan immediately, even in the middle of running wash functions. Also, if I put damp or nearly dry clothes in with the wash function in the off position and set the dryer timer, something in the dryer function causes those clothes to become completely soaked

Call in the troops! You need to have the controller panel opened and checked for excessive lint and dirt. There is a short or two in that mess!
tore into it more & found my heater element is blown open. What a PITA to get into. The heater fan is wired in series with a solenoid, so it seems like it adds water to extract from the clothes and since the heater was non-functional, that was just collecting back into the drum and soaking my clothes. Still not sure about the dryer timer issue. I'd prefer to troubleshoot the issue down to specific parts to replace rather than replace them arbitrarilyOne problem down
