Many problems with this GE fridge
I'm having many problems with my fridge. First, during normal operation, sometimes the fan will turn on and off...on and off. It is much louder than it was during the first two years of ownership.
But the real problems are with the ice dispenser. Sometimes the panel on the front will not let me select cubes. But now, even if I manage to select cubes or crushed ice, it will not dispense. When I have a glass in the dispenser, the fan will stop and I hear a quiet clicking sound. After I remove the glass, the fan will turn back on after a few seconds.
I have had minor problems with the water not dispensing, but usually it will work fine.
I would like instructions on how to find and replace the controller board, if that ends up being the problem.

The control board is in the back of the unit pull it out from the wall the get behind it you will see a metal cover with a screw holding it on some have 3 screws holdind the cover on. remove the cover and you will see the board you will see little plastic tips sticking thru the board just squeze the and pull lightly on the board in the area you are working untill the board pops of them. make sure you have the new board on hand before you start. and make sure you unplug the unit first the wire going to the board just pull off and will only fit one way when you plug them back in so you dont need to label them
