MasterCool 2 took a dive
Everything was business as usual until I went to turn the cooler on around 12:30. It made the initial noise like it was starting up then silence. There is power to unit but niether the pump nor motor are kicking in? Would a frozen motor stop the pump from working? Is there a reset switch on the unit anywhere?

Did you look at the unit. Maybe the belt broke or came off. Do you have voltage to motor. Need to follow the power to know where the problem is. Verify the breakers is good and there is power to the swamp cooler.
A frozen motor would not stop the pump from working. But the motor could have blown the breaker. Start by checking to make sure the power is good to the unit.
I have just undergone a similar experience with my master cool unit. 1) found the motor had a bad bearing that was causing the shaft to seize. My motor is a 230V two speed single phase. I was able to obtain a new replacement. The dealer that supplied the motor instructed me to adjust the width of the variable pulley so that the belt rides just below the pulley edge. WRONG advice. The new motor started correctly only once. After that, it froze and hummed. In another listing someone had pointed out an issue with the pulley setup and had resolved the start problem by setting the pulley width so that the belt rides lower, (making it easier for the motor to turn it). I went back and reset the pulley width to its former setting and gently re-tensioned the belt. It now runs perfectly for both hi or low speeds.
I have also included, a schematic diagram of the controller and motor wiring, which was not an easy find.
