I have a mastercraft welder wire feed , the power turns on the wire feed works and the fan in side turns on but it will not weld not even a spark! can anyone help?
I just bought one today, 1/2 price. might as well been free for all the use I got out of it. The wire stopped feeding properly after 2 minutes of use. I took it apart only to find the shaft for the feeder wheel is supported by plastic !! it has no support bearing, and the feeder wheel is binding on the plastic shroud. With the tension adjuster removed it works fine, but apply pressure and it binds. There is an incredible amount of up and down as well as end play in the shaft. What a P.O.S. !!! Crappy Trash just earned their name. My advice, take it back and get a refund, no store credit B.S. just return it and buy a miller....The real kicker is they give you extra nuts and bolts for the cart, yet can't figure out that a friggen sleeve bearing would've made the damn thing actually useable...
The wire feed is controlled by a dial not a switch, check you are using the right component. the dial will have "WFU of WF" printed under the dial, turn this anticlockwise and with the tentioners disengaged, notice the rollers going slow or fast as you turn the dial.

Your going have to replace the switch you usually can replace it with an after market one

Terrencio nailed it, it's actually the drive mechanism itself. no bearings and everything except for the drive wheels and the tensioning bolt
