Maxent MX42X3 first on
Hey I was told by a friend that my 42" MX-42X3 Maxent, the reason for Flicker problem first start up was the it had a Y Buffer lower board problem, what do you think? Seems like a common problem with this. I was also told 1 reason not enough cooling fans, or non, LOL. It only last for 25 seconds max and after is great picture and all.

PS. one other Q, have a 61 inch Samsung put bulb in and found out color wheel had went out, took my time and actually was farely easy. One thing once up and running, if you go to Menu that is clear looking, but main picture is not all that clear, almost like signal going to back or TV from Coaxel is not being prosesed, Idea???

If it flickers on start up it will only get worse. Mine got were it took over 3 hours to settle down, and never would stop flickering with DVD'S. Solution for mine: Replace bad capaciator on input circuit board, I found it by using a heat gun to speed up coming on process, Cost me 62 cents to replace the capaciator my self.
There's a repair kit for this problem on ebay. Just search for maxent repair.
Ok fellow Maxent problem guys, I also under stand that other manufactures models have same problem. This is a power board problem the problem is not the power board, but the unit that searches for signal and there lies your problem. I understand that a lot of these are out there good luck since Maxent is no longer and they where in my area when around. Panasonic I think uses same board so if power board replaced it should be taken care of.

SOLUTION:
Make sure your aspect ratio is set on all units are set correctly.
Cable box aspect ratio = 16x9
My was set to output resolution on my was set to 780p
These are not Progressive scan TV and will not support 780p or 1080p
Changing it to 1080i fixed the issue.
My Maxent 58" was also flickering when the picture was light or white. I pulled the back off and cleaned all of the dust out of the cooling fans and heatsinks and the problem whent away. I looked for bad capacitors but I could not find any.
