Maxtor 80gb hard disk not dtecting
When i connect the maxtor portable 80 gb hard disk to the computer it detects the computer and within seconds it gives a message that the device will not work properlyin the device manager properties menu it shows that the device cannot start error (code 11)

You might want to try downloading this fix from Microsoft. http://support.microsoft.com/KB/908673, as your first line of attack. The problem seems to be within your usb 2.0 hub on your computer. See if this helps.
